everything works fine except the screen when trying to take a pic. it is black, even if i shot a picture the screen it is still black. If i put a memory card in that has pictures on it. the pictures show up without a problem. what could be wrong?

The answer could be as simple as turning the display/screen back on.

READ YOUR MANUAL, it will teach you how to check that, and it will also teach a whole bunch of other useful stuff.
