Question by grace: canon powershot s500, broken?
i found an old digital camera of mine in the closet. it turns on, but it hums and says error 18 on the screen then turns off. does anyone know what it’d take to fix this or should i just buy a new one?

i’ve never herd of that take it back to the store it came from

buy a new one
the problem is most likely the lens is stuck….to fix this would be more expensive than buying a new one that has better megapixels (resolution)
Read the manual that came with it if you have it and if not look for a phone number on it to contact canon because the store will probably not take it back
Take it into a camera shop that sells Canon’s. Someone will help you
